The COCA-COLA Collection: The Vintage Vending Machine Edition
For more than 100 years, COCA-COLA has been "The Drink that Makes the Pause Refreshing." The statement applies no matter where one is around the world - at the movies in France, a soccer match in Kenya, a barbecue in Sydney, Australia, or simply relaxing at home wherever you call home. Part of that worldwide appeal is that COCA-COLA has been easy to find.
One of the ways that COKE has made itself so available is through development of vending machines. They not only keep COKE ice cold, but they also function as a great way to keep the COCA-COLA name in front of everyone. The Glascock Standard that was made and used in the early 1930s is a good example of this.
The big ice-cooled chest held plenty of COKE. When you lifted the panels of the lid, you were met with a bright advertising from COCA-COLA - in addition to the bright red color of the entire box with the COCA-COLA trademark. In fact, these advertising panels from the lids are highly collectible, as are the entire vending machines, for few were made and fewer still have survived.
Now, a vintage 1929 Morris Light Van bears the image of the Glascock Standard and the familiar phrase "The Pause that Refreshes." Your exciting die-cast replica is produced by Matchbox Collectibles.
